Lodges

Phakding : Sherpa Guide Lodge: This is always my first overnight while moving up the Khumbu Valley. The lodge is inspired by a visit Pasang Sherpa made to the Swiss Alps and the food is loaded with veggies from the extensive lodge garden. Coffee is top.

Namche Bazar : Panorama Lodge  My friend Mingma Sherpa has one of the best all around lodges in the Khumbu Valley. The rooms come with bathrooms and showers, the food is a step up from standard lodge food, the coffee is from Himalayan Sherpa Coffee, and the vibe is ideal for making friends.

Pangboche : Highland Sherpa Resort : Ang Temba and Yangji Sherpa run a comfortable lodge with great food and typical Sherpa hospitality. +977 9841488807

Chukhung : Khangri Lodge Lopsang Sherpa and his family run what has become like a home for me. The location is paradise. As of 2026, Lopsang’s brother Jangbu is managing the lodge and can be reached at: Tenzingjangbu.sherpa@gmail.com / +977 9851404112

Food

Cheplung :  Himalayan Sherpa Coffee  Just about 30 minutes from Lukla, stop trailside for locally roasted coffee and to enjoy the energy of Dawa Yangji Sherpa

Namche Bazar : Eat Smart Organic The place to go when you need to eat well and in quantity after a good long run down to Namche.
